Volleyball Captures Third Straight Region Title

Gray JV and Varsity went undefeated in Region play this season with their win over Calhoun County Monday night.  Both teams swept with JV winning 25-4, 25-3 and Varsity 25-5, 25-3, 25-4.  Lady War Eagles clinches Region Champs going 8-0 for a three-peat. Volleyball Defeats CA Johnson

Gray defeated CA Johnson in three: 25-4, 25-3, 25-5.  The games were primarily won on serves, with freshman Elizabeth Sligh going on a 12 serve run in the first set, senior Emma Bright went on a 14 serve run in the second, and Caylen Samuel opened the third set with a 15 serve run.  Kinzie

War Eagles Defeat Columbia High

Gray Collegiate swept their region opener against Columbia HS.  The JV quickly put away two wins, 25-10, 25-7.  Varsity swept Columbia High in three: 25-2, 25-5, 25-1.  Kinzie White served 26 times in the three games with many Aces.  Senior, Emma Bright and sophomore, Caylen Samuel also had long serving runs with multiple aces.

GCA Athletic Updates/Schedule Changes

Our Varsity football team will make up our game from Friday against White Knoll on Wednesday, September 19th at 6:30 p.m. The game will be played at White Knoll. We were suppose to play at Spirit Communications Park but they cannot accommodate  on Wednesday. Our JV will still play at A.C. Flora on Thursday. Game time is 6 p.m.

War Eagles Defeat Northside Christian

Both JV and Varsity came away with wins last night against Northside Christian Academy.  The JV won 2-1 and Varsity 3-1.  Seniors Emma Bright and Kinzie White led on offense with assists from setter Caylen Samuel.  Libero, Riley Whisenant, went on a 10 serve run in the second set to close out the win 25-16. 

War Eagles Fall to South Pointe

GCA fell to South Pointe in three sets tonight, 20-25, 23-25, 18-25.  The girls played well and led several times in each set.  Zyon Salley was solid on blocking tonight and Emma Bright led in kills. GCA will take on Brookland-Cayce high school next Thursday, August 4th at BC.

War Eagles Compete in Nation Ford Volleyball Tournament

GCA went 1-2 in pool play at the Nation Ford Invitational, earning them a silver bracket spot.  We took losses to South Aiken and Rock Hill and a win over Charlotte area Olympic High School.  Gray fell to York Prep in the silver semi, 15-25, 22-25.  Senior setter, Kiera Wheeler, was voted onto the All-Tournament

Volleyball Falls at North Augusta

GCA varsity volleyball lost at North Augusta 21-25, 21-25, 25-27. The War Eagles fought hard and kept each set close, but came up short in the end. Emma Bright led the team in kills, followed by Ireland Dail and Kenzie White.  Setter, Kiera Wheeler led with assists.  Junior, Ireland Dail, led in defensive passing last night
