Gray Collegiate’s Jensen Castle shot a 3-under 68 to earn medalist honors at the 3A Lower State Championship on Monday. Jalen Castle also qualified for the State Championship match after shooting 83. Both move on to compete for the 3A State Championship Oct. 22-23 at Carolina Springs in Fountain Inn.
GCA Varsity cheer stepped up to the 3A Division for Battle at The Bluff Saturday October 6th. They finished 1st place out out of 4 teams. Their next competition is Saturday October 13th at Daniel High School.
Congratulations to the War Eagle Cross Country boys and girls teams on their participation in the Highlander Classic at Heathwood Hall yesterday. The boys were paced by junior Cameron Ramirez (19:19) and senior Bryce Sox (19:20) and finished 10th amongst 25 varsity teams. The girls were led by senior Madeline McKeown, with a time of 28:20.

GCA had a signature win Friday night beating Lamar 38-12 on the road. The win snaps an 18 game winning streak for the back to back 1A state champs. The War Eagles also handed Lamar their first home loss in almost 5 years. GCA dominated the game on both sides of the ball from opening

Gray Collegiate swept their region opener against Columbia HS. The JV quickly put away two wins, 25-10, 25-7. Varsity swept Columbia High in three: 25-2, 25-5, 25-1. Kinzie White served 26 times in the three games with many Aces. Senior, Emma Bright and sophomore, Caylen Samuel also had long serving runs with multiple aces.
