The Gray JV Football team took down undefeated Oceanside in the first Home JV football game in school history. Oceanside took an early lead on a 30 yard td pass down the Gray sideline. GCA quickly responded with Robert Adams throwing a strike to Avante Grant for a 35 yard td of their own. Oceanside took a 7-6 lead going into the half, but the War Eagles came out of the half hot after a short lightning delay. Devin Johnson split a 60 yard td run the opening play of the second half to give the War Eagles the lead. The GCA defense shut Oceanside down in the second half with great efforts from Evan Sloan, Zay Henderson, Kendrick Wright, Adrian Miller, Ja’Khaydin Kinard, Blake Wadlington, and Jacob Black. GCA added one more TD when Avante Grant took a screen pass from Robert Adams for another TD. The War Eagles dominated up front in the second half rushing for over 150 yards behind Ryan Longino, Tre Samuel, Deshon Potts, Tony Lorick, Jackson Lowe, and Jack Douglas. The 20-13 win was the first of the year for the JV War Eagles.
